The 2023 Toyota Tundra is a beautiful and powerful truck with an optional advanced hybrid powertrain. The i-FORCE MAX is available for several 2023 Tundra trims. Trim Levels (Exterior)
Three of the 2023 Tundra trim levels are available with the i-FORCE MAX powertrain option, and two exclusively include this powertrain. The i-FORCE MAX is optional in the Limited, Platinum, and 1794 Edition, and it is standard in the TRD Pro and Capstone.
The Limited, Platinum, and 1794 Edition trims include 20-inch wheels and LED fog lights. The TRD Pro has 18-inch wheels, and the Capstone has 22-inch wheels. Available in the Limited and standard in the other trims is a 120-volt/400-watt bed-mounted AC power outlet. All i-FORCE MAX Tundra models, other than the TRD Pro, include an “i-FORCE MAX” hood badge. The TRD Pro has its own distinctive hood badge.
Engine (Power)
i-FORCE MAX Tundra models have a 3.5-liter aluminum block twin-turbo hybrid V-6 engine. The engine comes with a 24-valve DOHC chain drive with dual VVT-i and works in combination with an electric motor. With the i-FORCE MAX, you can get the job done with 437 horsepower at 5,200 rpm and 583 pound-feet of torque with maximum generation at 2,400 rpm.
Performance
The i-FORCE MAX optimizes efficiency, placing the electric motor between the V-6 engine and the transmission. The hybrid electric motor is designed for the durability of the 288-volt sealed nickel-metal hydride battery. In addition to the mud, sand, and rock terrain modes included with the 4x4 option, only the i-FORCE MAX also adds an auto mode.
The 2023 Tundra has a 10-speed electronically controlled automatic transmission with intelligence. The maximum payload can reach weights of 1,680 pounds in the Limited trim with 6.5-foot 4x2 CrewMax options. The gross combined weight tow rating is up to 17,700 pounds in the Limited, Platinum, and 1784 Edition, and 17,600 pounds in the TRD Pro.
Interior
All Tundra models with the i-FORCE MAX powertrain include a standard 12.3-inch digital display. Interior comfort features included with all i-FORCE MAX powertrain trim levels include power vertical rear windows, a backup camera, and dual-zone automatic climate control. Features available in the Limited and included in all other trims include a power tilt-slide panoramic roof and Qi-compatible wireless charging.
The Limited offers SofTex-trimmed seats. The Platinum and 1794 Edition include leather-trimmed seats, and the 1794 Edition has its own American walnut wood-grain trim. Choose the TRD Pro for its own style of SofTex-trimmed seats or the Capstone for semi-aniline leather-trimmed seats and dark American walnut wood-grain trim. Heating and ventilation are included for the front seats in the Limited and TRD Pro and added for the rear in the other trims.
The TRD Pro has a multi-terrain monitor with cameras. Available in the Platinum and 1794 Edition, and included in the Capstone, is a 10-inch color head-up display.
Safety Features
All i-FORCE MAX 2023 Toyota Tundra trims include three-point seatbelts, eight airbags, the Star Safety System, and Safety Connect. Toyota Safety Sense 2.5 is also included, with its package of features including full-speed range dynamic radar cruise control and many others.
