Trim Levels (Exterior)
The 2023 Toyota Tundra has seven trim levels, offering a perfect option for everyone. The base trim, SR, includes LED headlights with daytime running lights, 18-inch styled-steel wheels, and heated power outside mirrors. Upgrade to the SR5 to add LED fog lights and swap to silver-plated wheels or optional TRD Off-Road or TRD Sport wheels. The Tundra Limited includes 20-inch gray-painted and machined-finish wheels or optional 20-inch TRD Off-Road matte-black alloy wheels. The Limited also adds a heated power auto-dimming outside mirror with turn-signal and blind-spot-warning indicators.
In the Tundra Platinum, you get a confident grille, dark chrome accents, and features like premium LED taillights with sequential turn signals. The Tundra 1794 Edition is Western-inspired, with a chrome-accented mesh grille, and the TRD Pro has a black "TOYOTA" heritage grille and technical camo accents. The highest trim level, the Tundra Capstone, boasts 22-inch alloy wheels and a dark chrome-accented mesh grille with a color-keyed surround.
Engine (Power)
The SR has an i-FORCE 3.4-liter twin-turbo V-6 engine with 358 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque. The SR5, Limited, 1794 Edition, and Platinum have an i-FORCE 3.4-liter twin-turbo V-6 engine with 389 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque.
The available i-FORCE MAX engine, which comes standard with the TRD Pro and Capstone, uses hybrid technology to enhance performance. This engine delivers 437 horsepower and 583 pound-feet of torque. The electric motor sits between the engine and the transmission, increasing efficiency.
All trim levels use a D-4ST direct-injection and port-injection fuel system. The 2023 Toyota Tundra can tow up to 12,000 pounds with the right equipment and carry a maximum payload of 1,940 pounds.
Performance
The 2023 Toyota Tundra has a 10-speed electronically controlled automatic transmission with intelligence, sequential shift mode, and uphill/downhill shift logic. Eco, Normal, and Sport driving modes are available in the SR5 and up. Four additional driving modes are available as an option package in the Platinum, 1794 Edition, and Capstone. The standard model includes an independent double-wishbone front suspension and a coil spring multi-link rear suspension. With the SR5, you can choose a TRD sport-tuned and lowered suspension or a TRD off-road suspension (also an option in the Limited). Depending on trim level, you can choose the Adaptive Variable Suspension system or the Load-Leveling Rear Height Control Air Suspension.
Interior
Choose from an extended cab or crew cab. The standard 8-inch touchscreen can grow to 14 inches in higher trims. The SR includes a power horizontal rear window with defogger and privacy glass, a backup camera with projected path, and fabric-trimmed seats. Upgrades to boost comfort include a panoramic roof, an acoustic laminated windshield, a panoramic view monitor, and wireless smartphone charging. The 1794 Edition and Platinum feature premium leather trim. The 1794 Edition and Capstone have American walnut and dark American walnut wood-grain interior trims.
Safety Features
Every Tundra comes with a complete Toyota Safety Sense 2.5 safety package, which includes dynamic radar cruise control and road sign assist. The Blind Spot Monitor and front and rear parking assistance are available, and the Tundra has eight airbags.
