The Toyota RAV4 Hybrid packs all the features and equipment you love about the RAV4 into an SUV with a fuel-efficient hybrid setup. For the 2022 model year, a new SE trim joins the lineup, and all trims except the base LE have redesigned headlights with a more aggressive look. Also, for 2022, several trims have new wheel designs. Trim Levels (Exterior)

The entry-level RAV4 Hybrid is the LE. It comes with 17-inch alloy wheels and LED exterior lighting, including headlights, taillights, and daytime running lights, and it has active grille shutters. Step up to the XLE for automatic on-off headlights, heated and power-adjustable exterior side mirrors, fog lights, and keyless entry.

The XLE Premium comes with 18-inch alloy wheels, a moonroof, and a power liftgate with height adjustment. Step up to the new SE for some upgrades in the cabin, or choose the XSE for a two-tone exterior paint scheme. At the top of the RAV4 Hybrid lineup, the Limited comes with chrome trim.

Engine (Power)

Power for the RAV4 Hybrid comes from a 2.5-liter four-cylinder gas engine and two electric motors. These combine to generate 219 horsepower. The setup uses a continuously variable automatic transmission and comes standard with an all-wheel drive.

Performance

The electric motors contribute to the RAV4 Hybrids' quick acceleration, and the gas engine gives it plenty of power for driving around town. It feels stable and connected to the road when taking corners, and since it has a small footprint, it's easy to park and maneuver in tight spaces.

Interior

There's room for five in this Toyota. All the seats have plenty of cushioning and stay supportive, even on long rides. The cabin comes standard with cloth upholstery, dual-zone automatic climate control, and a height-adjustable rear cargo area. Adding the Weather Package to the XLE gets you a heated steering wheel and heated front seats, and if you step up to the XLE Premium, it comes standard with simulated leather upholstery and a leather-wrapped steering wheel.

Standard technology features in the base RAV4 Hybrid include a 7-inch touch screen, Bluetooth, a six-speaker stereo, voice recognition, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and satellite radio. The XLE Premium offers the Advanced Technology Package and Audio Plus with JBL, which has wireless phone charging, an 11-speaker JBL stereo system, an 8-inch touch screen, and four additional USB ports. The XSE Hybrid offers a 9-inch touchscreen and five USB ports as standard, with the option to upgrade and add wireless Qi smartphone charging.

Safety Features

Every RAV4 Hybrid comes with a full suite of advanced safety features. The Safety Sense 2.0 group has forward collision warning, automatic braking, lane-tracing assist, lane-departure warning with steering assist, automatic high beam headlights, and adaptive cruise control. The XLE Premium Hybrid offers the option for front and rear parking sensors and a digital rearview mirror as part of the Advanced Technology Package. Step up to the XSE for a panoramic rearview camera with dynamic guidelines.
