The Toyota RAV4 does everything a compact SUV should do, and it does it well. For the 2022 model year, it received some minor updates, including redesigned headlights for all models except the LE, and LED fog lights for the XLE Premium and up. Take a look at the 2022 Toyota RAV4.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
The entry-level LE comes with 17-inch steel wheels, LED headlights, LED taillights, and LED daytime running lights. Stepping up to the XLE gets you alloy wheels, heated and power-adjustable side exterior mirrors, and integrated turn signals. The Premium is up next in the lineup and comes with 19-inch wheels, LED fog lights, a power liftgate, a sunroof, and raised suspension.
The RAV4 Adventure adds fender flares and taller roof rails, while the TRD Off-Road adds all-terrain tires and an off-road suspension, along with black exterior trim elements. The top-level RAV4 Limited comes with chrome exterior trim and adds puddle lights to the side mirrors.

Engine (Power)
Power for the RAV4 comes from a 2.5-liter four-cylinder gas engine that puts out 203 horsepower. It works with an eight-speed automatic transmission and comes standard with front-wheel drive. Toyota offers two different all-wheel-drive systems. Most trims have the standard setup, but the Adventure's system will disconnect the rear axle when it's not needed to improve fuel efficiency.
Performance
The RAV4 accelerates quickly from a stop and feels stable and connected to the road when traveling at highway speeds. It's easy to drive and handle, with a responsive steering system and a comfort-tuned suspension that keeps the ride smooth over most roads. The TRD Off-Road model upgrades the suspension tuning for rougher terrain and adds drive modes, including a snow setting. The Adventure adds a downhill-assist system that keeps a steady speed when descending a steep slope.
Interior
Inside, there's room for five in the RAV4. It comes standard with cloth upholstery, but you can get a power-adjustable driver's seat that's worth the upgrade to the XLE. This trim also adds dual-zone automatic climate control, while the XLE Premium comes with faux leather upholstery. Bumping up to the Limited gets you heated front seats and a power-adjustable front passenger seat. Heated and ventilated front seats are available, and you can also get a heated steering wheel.
The technology features in the RAV4 start with a 7-inch touch screen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, USB ports, Bluetooth, and voice recognition. You'll get additional USB ports in the XLE, an 8-inch touch screen, a 120-volt power outlet, and a wireless version of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto in the Adventure and Limited. The Limited also adds integrated navigation and an 11-speaker JBL stereo.

Safety Features
Every RAV4 comes with the Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 suite of driver aids. This includes a forward collision mitigation system, adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, automatic high beam headlights, and a traffic sign reader. You can add a blind-spot monitor and rear cross-traffic alert or bump up to the XLE, where they come standard. Another step up to the Limited adds a digital rearview mirror.
