The full-size Toyota Tundra is big, athletic, and capable of tackling almost any job. This pickup truck can take you down the highway in style or off the beaten path. The 2021 model has a new Nightshade appearance package for the Limited with black accents inside and out. A new Trail Special Edition with unique features is also new for this year model. Trim Levels (Exterior)
If you're interested in the entry-level SR Tundra, it has 18-inch steel wheels and an integrated trailer brake controller. A step up to the SR5 adds fog lights, chrome trim elements, and variable intermittent windshield wipers. The Limited adds 20-inch alloy wheels and heated side mirrors. Toyota offers a TRD Off-Road package for the SR5, Limited, and 1794 trims which gets you 18-inch wheels, all-terrain tires, skid plates, tow hooks, and LED headlights and fog lights.
The new Trail Special Edition has 18-inch alloy wheels, a spray-in bed liner, and lockable storage bins in the bed. Choosing the new Nightshade Special Edition will get you 20-inch alloy wheels, black exhaust tips, black door handles, and a dark chrome grille. The TRD Pro has a sunroof and off-road shocks, and the high-end Limited comes with more chrome trim and LED running lights. The 1794 Edition adds Texas-inspired touches to the Limited's cabin.
Engine (Power)
All the 2021 Toyota Tundras get power from a 5.7-liter V-8 gas engine with 381 horsepower. Rear-wheel drive comes standard, and a part-time four-wheel-drive system with an electronically controlled transfer case is available for every model.
Performance
The Tundra has lots of power, and when properly equipped, it can tow up to 10,200 pounds and haul a 1,730 pound payload in the bed. If you want to head off-road, the TRD Pro has the equipment to tackle rough terrain and steep hills.
Interior
The 2021 Tundra can fit up to six people. The large CrewMax cab has lots of head and legroom in both rows and comfortable seats for everyone. Cloth upholstery comes in the entry-level models with leather added to the Limited, which also has a leather-wrapped steering wheel and the added comfort of heated front seats. The higher-end Platinum adds heated and ventilated front seats, and it comes with driver's seat memory settings. An 8-inch touch screen comes standard, and you also get Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a USB port in the base trim. The Limited adds navigation and more speakers, and the Platinum has an upgraded 12-speaker JBL stereo system.
Safety Features
Unlike many other pickup trucks, the 2021 Tundra comes standard with advanced driver aids such as lane departure alert, forward collision warning, automatic high beams, adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, and pedestrian detection, The Safety & Convenience package with front and rear parking sensors, a blind-spot monitor, and rear cross-traffic alert is an option for the SR5 and Limited and comes standard with the Platinum. Every Tundra also has a rearview camera, anti-lock brakes, trailer sway control, and stability control.
